Actually, I don’t worry about subtitles will burn oled screen, because the words of subtitles always change. You should avoid tv channel logo burn oled screen. I have "white transparent" which makes them look kinda gray. Little dark for normal content but perfect for HDR/Dolby Vision.

A slightly better option is Plex which is basically DLNA done right, the problem here is that LG have a crippled Plex client called MediaLink that's there own in-house version instead of a proper Plex client, so it's status in relation to subtitles I'm unsure of but in theory it should work and be the easiest option (famous last words).
